Lindsey Kahn

Lindsey (also goes by LK) is a Society of Master Saddlers Registered Qualified Saddle Fitter (QSF), Lantra certified bridle and bit fitter, and the founder of Safe and Sound Saddle Fit. She is dedicated to helping clients across the Midwest achieve their riding goals without sacrificing the comfort of their beloved horses.

LK trained extensively with the Society of Master Saddlers which enables her to balance a rider’s seat, compensate for a horse’s asymmetry, and support overall equine movement and performance through proper saddle fit. She was certified by the Master Saddlers Association in 2016 and continues to build on her education and stay up to date on current research by studying at the North American Saddlery School, and attending as many biomechanics and sports medicine seminars as possible. In 2023, she had the honor of completing the prestigious Society of Master Saddlers’ advanced saddle fitting course with other experienced candidates from around the world. In June 2023, after passing an intensive and multifaceted exam, LK was honored to become a SMS Registered Qualified Saddle Fitter, one of only a couple dozen in the United States.

Understanding that the keys to a sound, willing equine partner include all tack and equipment, LK decided to pursue an education in bridle and bit fitting in 2017. She earned her Lantra Certificate in Lorinery Science (bit fitting) in 2018 from the NS Academy, and was honored to receive the Loriner’s Award and Certificate of Achievement for highest-marked student. LK also completed the CPD Accredited Horse Bit Fit Bridle Fitting coursework with Distinction in 2019. She is now one of only a few certified bit fitters in the United States.

LK has ridden horses her entire life across multiple disciplines. She owns a sassy Connemara/Thoroughbred mare, Firefly, and sweet Rocky Mountain gelding, Griffin, and enjoys exploring Minnesota trails. Her proudest moment was placing 3rd at the 2018 American Eventing Championships with Firefly. When she’s not working with horses, LK enjoys music, reading, drawing, professional wrestling, learning Finnish, and creating her customizable Do Or Do Knot Rope Halters.

Tasha Brady

Tasha Brady joined Team Safe and Sound in 2022, and we’re thrilled to have her! She fits English, Western, and Endurance saddles across MN, ND, and northern WI. Drawing on her MSA training, Tasha provides clear, detailed notes that leave clients feeling confident, educated, and comfortable in their tack. She is passionate about meeting the needs of both riders and their horses.

Tasha knew she always wanted her life to be set around horses. Her desire to make a positive difference in the horse world prompted her to train with the MSA and pursue SMS qualification. She currently also apprentices with MN-based leatherwright Beth Horton at Stitchwitch Leather Works to learn the art and intricacies of inspecting and repairing saddles and tack.

Tasha began her journey with horses as a teenager, trying many disciplines until she met her heart horse, a Saddlebred/Morab named Scotty. Together, they learned the ropes of three-day eventing and dressage, which is Tasha’s favorite discipline. Tasha has volunteered at therapeutic riding programs and was a barn manager for an equine rescue program. In recent years, she has stepped back from showing to focus on constructing her dream farm. Some of her other goals including trying endurance, reining, and other disciplines – she never shies away from trying something new! Tasha also loves cats, so don’t be surprised if she befriends any and all of the cats at her clients’ farms!

Tatum Gray

Tatum Gray has a skillful eye and meticulous feel for balancing and fitting saddles to suit the individual horse and rider. She loves to help her clients find their optimal saddle fit – whether it’s fitting them for a custom saddle, trialing a demo saddle, or adjusting flocking in their well-loved saddle to keep their horses comfortable and happy. As of Fall 2024, Tatum assists clients in the Ocala, Florida area.

Tatum’s passion for horses inspired her to pursue an education with the Master Saddlers Association and Society of Master Saddlers at a young age. After training and apprenticing for several years, Tatum officially joined Safe and Sound Saddle Fit in 2021. In 2024, Tatum was offered the position of becoming an integral member of the Brian Hafner Dressage team, and made the big move from the Twin Cities to Ocala, FL to assist Brian’s program. She is available for English and Western saddle fit checks in the Ocala area.

Tatum has been riding most of her life and competes in three-day eventing, dressage, and western dressage, and also has experience showing in many other disciplines such as western pleasure, ranch pleasure, showmanship, and trail. Some of Tatum’s accomplishments include placing in Top 10 at the 2018 American Eventing Championships with her Quarter Horse mare Red’s Loyal Flame (“Little Red”), placing 6th out of 25 riders as part of Area IV’s team at the Midsouth Team Challenge at the Kentucky Horse Park, and training her young Irish Sport Horse mare FourFields Fire Storm (“Ember”). She trains with clinicians such as US Olympian Becky Holder, Grand Prix dressage trainer Brian Hafner, 5* eventers Dom & Jimmie Schramm, Yves Sauvignon, and more.

Erika Dieltz

Erika Dieltz began assisting LK on the road in 2021, and we are so appreciative of her horsemanship skills and positive energy. She has been a literal lifesaver during their travels together (just don’t ask LK about that one time Erika took her on the “black diamond” hike during their pit stop at Devil’s Tower in Wyoming!). Erika has worked in the horse industry for over 20 years and loves to travel, meet people and their horses, and visit different farms.

Erika rides many disciplines, and has trained all of her own horses over the years. She bought her Arabian gelding Romero in 2018, and together they have done everything from trail riding in the Black Hills, to jumping cross-country. Romero is a flirt and is always on the lookout for delicious snacks.

When Erika is not working or riding, she loves traveling, biking, dancing, camping, checking out restaurants, and going on adventures!
