How your tack fits matters.
It's time to make sure your horse is comfortable, being ridden in comfort, and has the freedom and confidence to perform.
A well-fitted saddle is more than just a comfort upgrade—it’s essential for both horse and rider. Proper fit supports your position, balance, and effectiveness in the saddle while protecting your horse’s health, performance, and overall well-being. Poor fit can cause pain, muscle tension, restricted movement, and even long-term issues such as spinal or joint problems in a horse. For the rider, an ill-fitting saddle can create discomfort, poor alignment, and ineffective aids, making it harder to communicate clearly with your horse.
At Safe and Sound Saddle Fit, we provide personalized saddle fitting services, custom saddle sales, consignment saddles, and bit and bridle fitting consultations. While saddle fit is important, a properly fitted bridle and bit is just as essential—they reduce tension, improve responsiveness, and allow for clear, comfortable communication between horse and rider. With our expertise and a variety of trusted brands, we ensure both you and your horse receive the comfort and support you deserve.
Give your horse the gift of comfort and freedom of movement today and boost your horse’s performance with properly fitted tack that meets both your needs and your horse’s.
Horse Comfort
A properly fitted saddle supports natural movement, distributes weight evenly, and reduces pressure points. Likewise, a well-fitted bit and bridle ensures clear communication, reduces tension, and prevents discomfort.
When your horse is comfortable and pain-free in their tack, rides are smoother, training is more effective, and the partnership between horse and rider strengthens.
Rider Comfort
Riding in a saddle that correctly supports your body improves stability, helps you communicate more effectively, and boosts your confidence in every ride.
When the rider is comfortable, training becomes smoother, performance improves, and every ride feels more connected and enjoyable.
Absolutely recommend! Lindsey gave accurate measurements and helped me and my horse find our saddle. She also gave pointers which were very helpful. Lindsey is brilliant with communication and answers all of my questions in a prompt manner. Very professional and great to work with. I'm looking forward to her next visit to confirm our saddle and adjust as needed. Thank you!

Our Services

Saddle Fitting & Flocking Adjustments
We provide thorough on-site evaluations of your current saddle, no matter the brand, flocking, or discipline, taking into account your horse’s current conformation and body condition. Our assessments include both static (unmounted) and dynamic (mounted) evaluations to ensure optimal fit. Saddle fit should be assessed at least twice a year, with regular flocking adjustments for wool saddles to correct compression or imbalance.

New & Used Saddle Sales
Test-ride custom, demo, or pre-owned saddles with a comprehensive evaluation designed to ensure the correct fit for your horse. Our fitting process includes static (unmounted) assessment—with wither tracings, back palpation, symmetry checks, and gait analysis—followed by a dynamic (mounted) evaluation for an unlimited number of saddles. A full evaluation typically takes 1–2 hours, depending on how many saddles are tested.

Bit and Bridle Fitting
Make sure your horse’s bridle and bit fit correctly with an on-site evaluation tailored for comfort, performance, and clear communication. Our service includes facial conformation analysis, measurements, and diagrams, as well as static (unmounted) and dynamic (mounted) assessments. We provide expert recommendations for bridle and bit sizes, styles, and types to suit your horse’s needs. A full fitting typically takes 30–90 minutes, depending on how many bits are tested.
